אסטמה בילדים קטנים

אסטמה בילדים קטנים הינה תופעה שכיחה. אחד מכל 3 ילדים יצפצף או יסבול מצפצופים במהלך 5 השנים הראשונות לחייו. לרוב התופעה חולפת עם הגדילה ורק אצל כ-30% מהילדים המחלה הופכת לאסטמה המוכרת לנו אצל ילדים בוגרים יותר. רופאי הילדים מיומנים בדר"כ בטיפול בצפצופים בילדים בגיל הצעיר, אך באם התופעה חוזרת ונשנית, או חלילה גורמת להתקפים קשים עד כדי אשפוז, מומלץ להתייעץ ברופא ריאות ילדים מומחה על מנת לשקול את הצורך בטיפול מונע ספיציפי וקבוע לתקופה.

שיעול ממושך אצל ילדים

שיעול ממושך בילדים הינה תופעה שכיחה, שיעול ממושך לתקופה של יותר מחודש לרוב מהווה תופעה שמטרידה הן את ההורים והן את הילדים. השיעולים לעתים מחמירים בלילה, ועלולים לפגוע באיכות השינה המיטבית, ההכרחית והחשובה בילדים שגדלים בשנתם. בכל מקרה של שיעול ממושך שאינו חולף מומלץ לפנות ראשית לרופא הילדים להערכה, ובכל מקרה שלא נמצא פתרון הולם ע"י רופא הילדים הראשוני והשיעולים נמשכים, מומלץ ויש לפנות לרופא מומחה ריאות ילדים לצורך המשך בירור והערכה. אין לנוח על זרי הדפנה כאשר הילד סובל משיעול ממושך לאורך תקופה, שיעול ממושך - מהווה נורה אדומה, ואינו תרחיש נורמלי אצל ילדים.
